Technology

Duca Dentistry is proud to utilize Kodak’s revolutionary, state-of-the-art digital radiography as a form of x-ray imaging, where digital x-ray sensors are used instead of traditional photographic film! In addition, we also use the Caries Detector Software for imaging diagnosis and Intraoral Camera for hi tech image capture.

The KODAK RVG 6100 Digital Radiography System has the highest resolution digital imaging sensor on the market today. This system provides the highest quality image resolution needed for complex examinations and to help us make your diagnoses quickly and confidently. Ultimately, our use of this digital system ensures that we provide our patients with the most accurate level of quality care.

Kodak Digital Sensors

A digital image capture device is used to record the x-ray image and make it available as a digital file that can be presented for interpretation and saved as part of your dental record. The advantages for patients with digital radiography over film include, the time you save with immediate image preview and availability, the enhanced image quality and significantly less radiation may be used to produce an image of similar contrast to conventional radiography.
Digital x-rays allow Dr. Duca to view images together with you while discussing treatment options, as well as discovering decay, un-erupted teeth, bone loss and other problems!

LOGICON Caries Detector Software is clinically proven to help dentists find 20% more cavities extending into the dentin than possible with traditional methods and prevent misdiagnosis of healthy teeth. LOGICON Caries Detector™ Software is a unique tool that assists in the difficult task of diagnosing radiographs for proximal caries.

Software helps dentists visually analyze radiographs and diagnose caries on proximal surfaces. A powerful computer-aided diagnostic (CAD) tool, LOGICON Software uses a database of histologically validated caries cases to help determine whether or not caries are present in your image and whether restoration is needed.

KODAK 1500 Intraoral Camera

An Intraoral Camera is designed to be used in the mouth for the purpose of taking crystal-clear video or still photography. The camera’s unique liquid lens technology works like the human eye to ensure effortless image capture and clear, detailed images each and every time. Combined with the industry’s highest still image resolution, the KODAK 1500 ensures every shot is superb – right down to the smallest detail.

Dr. Duca is a strong believer is dental education and prefers to show his patients exactly what is going on inside their mouths and to highlight areas where dental attention may be needed. In addition to being used in patient education, such cameras can also be used to take clear visual records for patient files and to generate material which can be used in consultations and discussions with other
dental providers.

Images taken by an intraoral camera can also be reviewed later, which can be useful if Dr. Duca has a suspicion that something is not quite right. Cameras have disposable probes or probe covers to ensure that germs are not passed between patients.

Dr. Duca also documents each case with digital photography to provide a digital photographic archival record of your dental appearance and to accurately communicate outcomes of all laboratory involved cases.
